What happens in freezing rain?
We walk in rain, cold, and snow. Our walkers carry booties and waterproof gear for every dog in the rotation. Walks are shortened to 20 minutes (billed at full rate) when temperatures drop below 15°F or when the city issues a weather advisory — your dog still gets out, just not for a marathon.
If conditions are genuinely dangerous (ice storm, lightning within 3 miles), we issue a same-day credit to your account — no questions, no paperwork.

02 — Holiday Policy
Can I pause over the holidays?
Yes — Winter and Year-Round packages both include one 14-day pause per contract period at no charge. Give us 7 days' notice and your slot is held; your walker stays assigned to your dog and your rate doesn't change when you return.
Spring packages are flex-scheduled, so pausing is built into the structure — you simply don't book those weeks. No notice required, no penalty.

03 — Reactive & Special Needs
Do you walk reactive dogs?
We do, and we're good at it. All Stride walkers complete a reactive-dog handling certification before their first shift. We require a 30-minute meet-and-greet before onboarding any dog that the owner flags as reactive — this is non-negotiable and free.
Reactive dogs are always walked solo (never in groups), on a slip-resistant harness we provide if needed, on routes pre-screened for low dog-traffic. We communicate via the app after every walk with a brief behavioral note.
